Responsibilities
This position assists the communications director with all aspects of law school communication, including editing and writing, social media, graphic design, web content, and photography. Helps manage official law school social media accounts.
- Responsible for College of Law digital media and social media strategy. Manage social media content and scheduling for Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, and any new properties as needed. Assist with YouTube content posting. Work closely with the dean on the dean’s social media accounts.
- Assists with writing and editing a wide variety of communications vehicles, including newsletters, web and social media content, press releases, brochures, magazine articles, and other promotional materials.
- Work with director and communications coordinator on the overall direction and development of the College of Law website content. Includes meeting with department heads, faculty members and students to discuss their needs for web content and making recommendations for improving existing content.
- Ensures that web content is current and grammatically correct, and that messaging is consistent throughout the site and with the overall branding of the law school.
- Responsible for using the Adobe Creative Suite programs and Canva to edit photos and design various electronic and print communications vehicles.
- Assists communications director and other members of the administration with other projects as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in utilizing various social media platforms.
- Ability to craft engaging and on-brand written content.
- Ability to adjust writing style to suit different audiences and platforms.
- Collaborative and able to work effectively within a team environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to six years.)
