Frequently Asked Questions About Serving with FPRA

How can I get involved with the FPRA Capital Chapter?

The easiest way to start is to contact us and tell us your interests. We will connect you with the right committee or board member to help you find a role that fits your goals and schedule.

Do I need to be an FPRA member to serve on a committee?

Yes, you do need to be an FPRA Capital Chapter member to serve on a committee or in a board role.

How much of a time commitment is involved?

That’s the beauty of the FPRA Capital Chapter. There are single-serve opportunities, like serving on a review committee, to longer-term roles like serving on the Board of Directors. There are many opportunities available that best align with your time and goals. You can download a list of board and committee role descriptions here.

What is the difference between a committee role and a board position?

Committee roles are a great way to get involved by supporting specific programs, events, or initiatives with a flexible time commitment. Board positions provide strategic leadership for the Chapter, oversee key areas of operation, and require a greater commitment to planning and decision-making. Many members begin on a committee before pursuing a board role.

How are board members selected?

We welcome members at all stages of their careers to get involved. Board and committee appointments are based on the Chapter’s needs, members’ interests and experience, and a commitment to serving FPRA. Our goal is to create opportunities for members to contribute, develop leadership skills, and grow within the organization.
