Description
During a minimum of 8–12-week communication department internship with the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association (FOMA), the intern will enhance their knowledge by learning the various aspects of communications and public relations as it relates to a statewide association.

Primary Duties Include, but are not limited to:

  • Social Media: Daily activities include monitoring social media, analyzing data, researching topics, and developing social/digital posts and campaigns to be approved by the Communications Director.
  • Website: Daily responsibilities include ongoing site maintenance, testing links and web pages for accuracy and functionality, creating web graphics as needed, developing articles and resources for the FOMA website, and other front-end development of any new projects.
  • Public Relations: Daily activities include assisting with research for articles and press releases, editing various materials, soliciting advertising for the FOMA Journal and website, and monitoring and gathering member highlights for publication.
  • Publications: Help design and create the FOMA Journal and other publications as needed. Gather articles and assist with the weekly FOMA Newswire through Constant Contact.

Qualifications

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Use of correct grammar and punctuation
  • Available in the office for 12-15 hours per week
  • High proficiency in social media apps, calendars, and metrics
  • Adobe Creative Cloud Apps
  • Canva
  • Hootsuite
  • Constant Contact as an Email Service Provider
  • Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
