The Prevention Campaign Coordinator is a full-time, exempt position based in Tallahassee, Florida. Following the completion of training, this role may be eligible for transition to a hybrid schedule. The ideal candidate will bring an innovative mindset to develop creative public engagement strategies that raise awareness about child abuse prevention. They should be skilled in managing content across all major social media platforms and adept at tailoring posts, timing, and formats (including photos, videos, and other media) to maximize impact. The Prevention Campaign Coordinator will also be responsible for planning events that support our mission, representing the organization at conferences and resource fairs, and analyzing where safety campaigns can achieve the greatest visibility. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate excellent written communication skills to effectively engage both funders and followers.

Duties:

The tasks listed below represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

  • Plan Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Month campaign events
  • Assist in the development and deployment of toolkit materials for campaigns (CAP Month, safe sleep, hot car, water safety/ drowning prevention)
  • Coordinate audio/ visual support for in-person events
  • Develop agreements for media buys and correspond with media outlets when needed for coordination of services
  • Support the prevention services team at live and online events and training
  • Create weekly and monthly calendars to promote company brands on various social media websites
  • Create and distribute content such as blog articles, infographics, and videos, and assist the – Communications Director with press releases on social media and traditional news outlets
  • Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability and report analytics monthly for contract deliverables
  • Perform social media marketing research
  • Write social media captions that speak to the company’s target audience
  • Assist with the strategy, design, and execution of social media campaigns
  • Respond to comments, tags, and DMs on social media platforms
  • Assist with strategy development for prevention awareness campaigns
  • Brainstorm and research ideas for original content for digital and printed media
  • Create compelling graphics
  • Help create and edit short-form videos
  • Develop new strategies for increasing social media engagement
  • Assist with photo/video shoots
  • Ensure the brand message is consistent
  • Contribute to the planning/execution of Prevent Child Abuse America chartering requirements
  • Collaborate with colleagues and accept guidance and constructive criticism

Qualifications

Vocational/Education requirements: Requires at a minimum a bachelor’s degree in journalism, business, public relations, marketing, communications, or similar areas of study, or equivalent experience.

Special certifications and licenses: Requires valid Driver’s License.

Technical knowledge and skills requirements: Expert-level fluency in Canva, excellent writing, copy editing, and graphic design skills; excellent critical thinking, interpersonal, communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills; and excellent knowledge of Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and Facebook. Experience requirements:

This position requires a minimum of two years of experience in social media. The candidate must also have proven experience in event planning and in leveraging social media, radio, and television to optimize impressions and strengthen brand awareness. The Prevention Campaign Coordinator must be flexible and adaptable as campaigns evolve, and skilled at engaging both stakeholders and the public to build strong connections and maximize impact. Preference will be given to applicants with the following technical knowledge and skills: Familiarity with Wix or similar content management system and familiarity with asynchronous training systems such as Articulate 360. Physical Requirements Requires sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time, exerting up to 50 pounds of force on an occasional basis, and routine keyboard operations. Additional Information This position requires travel up to 50% of work time during peak campaign activity months of April, May, and June.
