Florida’s Force – Telling Your Story in the Eye of the Storm



Come out to our next FPRA Capital Chapter Program to hear about the Florida National Guard and their heroic efforts during Florida’s recent hurricanes, and the team that told their story. Major Caitlin Brown will detail how their public affairs team handled crisis communications in the eye of the storm and what lessons they learned.

Major M. Caitlin Brown is assigned as the Director of Public Affairs for the Florida National Guard. In this role, she is responsible for all strategic communication and public affairs efforts for a dynamic, 12,000-member statewide agency, including crisis communication, media relations, community outreach, social media, journalism, photography, video production, and website management. She provides direct counsel to The Adjutant General and joint senior leadership on all public affairs issues, and supervises a staff of 10 public affairs and visual information professionals who provide synchronized capabilities to tell the Florida National Guard story.
