Member Highlight: Meet Michael Sonntag
Michael’s Journey
What do you enjoy most about being involved as a member?
I could say a million great things about the Capital Chapter networking opportunities, professional development functions, and recognition opportunities, but I think more than all of that, the Cap Chap has let me meet an incredible group of people who are more than just colleagues. These are people who are real friends and supporters to celebrate victories, be there when you need to vent, and just get what we all go through.
What PR or marketing project are you most proud of?
I had the opportunity to work on a public affairs project around the Baker Act language. At the time, I was working in a position that focused on advocating for better policy for children and families in Florida. I really value getting to do work that makes a real difference in the lives of people who need it.
What is your favorite hobby or something unique about you that FPRA members may not know?
I grew up playing music. At one point I was playing five or six instruments, doing live shows and seriously considering looking at schools to study music. I still pick up the guitar and play to get some of my creative thoughts moving.
