Member Highlight: Meet Jerome A. Maples Sr., M.A.
Jerome’s PR Journey
Why did you join FPRA Capital Chapter?
I joined FPRA for professional development, networking opportunities, and the encouragement of my mentor, who introduced me to the organization. (Thanks, Heidi Otway!)
What do you enjoy most about being involved as a member?
I’ve enjoyed the wealth of knowledge I’ve gained in my short time as a member of the FPRA Capital Chapter, as well as the willingness of everyone to help me grow in the PR profession.
What PR or marketing project are you most proud of?
This is a tough one because I’m usually so focused on the next project and how I can improve on what I’ve already accomplished. While I could highlight something from my business or current job, I’m most proud of a marketing piece—a mini-documentary—I developed that is being released this month by Gadsden County. It tells the story of the Lake Talquin drowning, in which my dad was the only survivor.
What is your favorite hobby or something unique about you that FPRA members may not know?
My favorite hobby is constantly changing, but recently, I’ve gotten into building Technic sets.
