ER for PR, the Capital Chapter’s annual community service event, offers small businesses and local non-profits an opportunity to receive free one-on-one counseling sessions with PR experts.

In addition to the counseling sessions, the Chapter will host speakers to talk about PR and nonprofit management best practices. Attendees will also be able to bid on low-priced communication services at the silent media auction, speak with PR pros from the area and network with other nonprofits and local businesses in the area.

Organizations selected will be notified by Friday, July 10, 2015.

Schedule:

9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Individual Counseling Sessions

Nonprofit organizations selected for this event will receive one-on-one pro bono counseling from Capital Chapter practitioners.

10:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Break

10:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Concurrent Breakout Sessions

Social Media Marketing

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+. How do nonprofits with limited staff handle it all? Nate Long, Digital Marketing Consultant at Nate Long Marketing, will share tips on how to navigate the growing world of social media.

In The News – Getting Your Story in the Media

How do you get your organization’s news in the media? This is your opportunity to meet the reporters who make those decisions. Jade Bulecza from WTXL-TV and Lynn Hatter from WFSU radio will share the best ways to get your story noticed and answer your questions.

ER for PR activities from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. are free of charge for participating nonprofit organizations. There is a small fee for nonprofits wishing to attend the luncheon.

How to Tell Your Organization’s BEST story

Alyce Lee Stansbury, founder of Stansbury Consulting, will lead an interactive presentation and hands-on exercise that will guide you through the process of telling your nonprofit organization’s story. Stansbury is a Certified Fundraising Executive and Certified Master Trainer in Fundraising by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She has raised millions of dollars for a variety of nonprofit organizations and is a member of the adjunct faculty at Florida State University.
