Public Information Specialist - Citizen Engagement Liaison

Description

The purpose of this position is to establish new and exciting ways to engage citizens online and in person. The position will strategically use multiple media sources to engage citizens on the issues that matter the most to them where they live. Work involves communicating Leon County information to the media, public, and employees; planning special events and meetings; and developing, implementing and maintaining public information strategies and communication plans to keep citizens informed about significant issues and/or events. Qualifications

Education: A bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, public relations, communications, graphic design or related field(s); or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience: Two years of experience in graphic design, public or employee relations, public information, advertising, marketing, mass communications, or any related area(s) is preferred.
