Crippen & Co. is looking for a dynamic, energetic and creative self-starter for a full-time Director of Marketing position with our rapidly growing accounting firm. You will work closely with firm partners and serve as the key strategic leader to oversee the planning, development and execution of all marketing, advertising, public relations and branding initiatives. You will also serve as a liaison between the firm and the communities in which we serve.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and executing marketing and communication plans, ideation and creation of collateral; including working with in-house and external resources and vendors. You will be an essential part of the firm’s marketing/communication efforts and will lead the overall development of short-term marketing activities and long-term marketing planning.


  • Work closely with firm partners to conceive and define marketing objectives
  • Plan strategies and budgets to realize the goals of the firm
  • Execute defined marketing strategies and programs
  • Expand brand presence and awareness in current channels, while significantly strengthening and building brand presence with prospects and the communities we serve
  • Track success rate and performance of on-going promotional, advertising and marketing initiatives
  • Manage firm website and social media; including deciding what content is placed, creating new content and reviewing analytics of use to improve retention and use
  • Be a “brand ambassador” who exemplifies the firms culture in all communications and interactions
  • Build media relations and serve as the point contact for communication with media outlets
  • Represent the firm at appropriate trade shows, meetings, conventions and networking events
  • Strive to keep sales collateral and communications fresh and relevant
  • Develop advertising concepts and placement schedules as well as negotiate rates, provide editorial support for publications and other appropriate media outlets
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and foster strategic partnerships
  • Assemble and lead internal and external teams
  • Direct resources and manage creative, branding, marketing and advertising projects
  • Create internal and external presentations
  • Be receptive to (and be prepared to give) constructive criticism and ideation
  • Create, track and manage timelines, strategies and budgets
  • Stay current on popular culture, trends and technology
  • Communicate with internal and external teams and vendors regarding project deliverables, details and expectations
  • Operate comfortably and effectively as a mobile worker (as needed)
  • Oversee production management and vendor coordination

Education & Experience:

  • 3+ years in a marketing role, preferably in leadership capacity
  • 2+ years agency or internal marketing department, considered a bonus
  • Proven track record of working with outside agencies and crafting relevant campaigns for existing, as well as newly-created products/services
  • Bachelors Degree in marketing, communications, journalism or business
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel (we’re accountants so we like spreadsheets)
  • Experience with project management software, systems and methods
