Responsibilities:
Serve as coordinator of special events and projects for the CSW. Responsible for planning, organization & implementation of academic and non-academic events. Develop and schedule meetings/activities to encourage increased community awareness and support. Responsible for working with venues, assist with RFP’s, invitations, mailings, event/conference materials, securing sponsorships, catering, staffing conferences, and arranging photography and videography.

Exercise professional judgment when planning/developing events and services within the relevant scope of responsibility. Secure sponsorships, gifts and awards.
Formulate, interpret and implement policies and procedures governing the management and implementation of events and services within the area of responsibility.
Assist with budget recommendations and reports.

Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Admin. & Finance, Travel Representative, Alumni Coordinator, Development Officer, Directors and Dean & with external agencies to provide effective services in the planning & execution of special events and projects. In consultation with the Assistant Dean of Admin. & Finance, assess and identify the need for new services and events within the scope of responsibility. Promote and support fundraising efforts by alumni, various other groups, and individuals.

Assist with CSW communications by recommending and assisting with designing brochures, flyers, and promotional items. Assisting the Development Officer and Alumni Coordinator with updating contact cards, and assists with editing the College newsletters.

Develop procedures to assure timely and smooth execution of events.

Soft Money Funded Position: This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of event planning and ability to coordinate, organize and evaluate meetings and/or events.
  • Knowledge of public relations practices.

PREFERRED
Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in a University setting.

BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
