Description
The Marketing Manager for Florida A&M University’s Office of Communications, is responsible for assisting in directing ongoing development, promotion and implementation of a comprehensive and integrated marketing plan for Florida A&M University. The Manager will be responsible for collaborative execution of the plan and assisting with coordination of marketing efforts with the schools/colleges and divisions and units across the University. The Manager will also lead the development and updating of the University’s prospectus/partnership guides involved in the marketing of FAMU. The incumbent will be involved in the execution and evaluation process for a wide variety of strategies and tactics pertaining to marketing, public relations, print, online, video and other digital components on multiple media platforms and at internal and external events and showcasing opportunities.
Leads efforts to write stories/copy, gather content, including video, photos and graphics for promotional content on multiple media platforms including e-newsletters; Utilizes advertising, public relations, direct marketing, online tactics, sales and outreach tools to raise awareness of the University’s strengths, brand, and achievements. Collaborates with creative, social media, production, publications, media relations, public relations, and external teams to execute integrated marketing campaigns and projects; Leads digital and media buying initiatives to promote the brand, amplify messaging and increase ROI; and manages production of commercials and promotional videos.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations or an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of experience in marketing production; or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations or an appropriate area of specialization.
RECOMMENDED COMPETENCIES
Knowledge of digital medial tools and web literacy;
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication;
Must have the ability to manage multiple assignments;
Demonstrated experience in copywriting (i.e., marketing collateral, radio spots and TV commercials);
Proventrack record of developing and growing successful student recruitment marketing campaigns;
Ability to compile and analyze data for administrative decisions to determine the most appropriate media for creation of graphic images;
Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Excellent organizational skills;
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices; and
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants with five (5) years of higher education experience in marketing and production.
