Description
PURPOSE
This entry-level position will work in a fast-paced statewide organization to support outreach efforts that raise awareness and use of the business and career services available through the CareerSource Florida network. The successful candidate will assist with the development of written, printed and online outreach materials and messaging, providing input and feedback on communications projects and reporting to CareerSource Florida’s Director of Communications.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Drafting news releases
• Drafting talking points and assisting with presentations
• Providing assistance with social media management
• Reviewing websites and making recommendations for updates
• Providing assistance with e-marketing campaigns, including e-blasts and
newsletters in Constant Contact
• Providing design recommendations for printed and online outreach materials
• Assisting with planning and preparations for quarterly board meetings and
other stakeholder meetings as necessary
• Assisting with business and other correspondence and customer inquiries
• Researching and planning for communications projects
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must have great customer service and interpersonal relationship skills
• Must be a proficient writer with experience in social media and various public
relations tools including news releases, reports, business overviews,
summaries, etc.
• Must be skilled in using the Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint and
Word
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction
• Must be able to work quickly and meet deadlines
• Must demonstrate the ability to work within a team
EDUCATION OR CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or a
related course of study
Salary Range: $15.38-$17.79/hour w/ benefits ($32,000-$37,000 annualized)
