NON-PROFITS CAN APPLY FOR FREE PR COUNSELING
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Feb. 8, 2010) – The Florida Public Relations Association, Capital Chapter (FPRA) is now accepting applications for its 11th Annual “ER for PR” event, a free counseling workshop for non-profit organizations. FPRA will select 15 local organizations to be advised by experienced public relations “medics” on ways to implement public awareness campaigns, special events or media relations strategies during a two-hour, individualized session.
“‘ER for PR’ is FPRA’s opportunity to extend public relations resources and expertise to community non-profits that don’t have the resources or staff to help them with their communications needs,” said Heidi Otway, APR, president of the FPRA Capital Chapter. “Some organizations that rely on donations are struggling right now. It’s our responsibility and desire to help them continue their community initiatives effectively.”
The event will be held Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn Tallahassee Central. Organizations interested in receiving an application via e-mail should contact Jolene Gurtis at (850) 386-9100 or jgurtis@rboa.com. The deadline to submit applications is Wednesday, Feb. 17, by 5 p.m. EST.
The mission of the Capital Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association is to provide its members with opportunities for professional development, networking and recognition while promoting ethical standards and professional excellence within the profession and the community.
