Strategic Partnerships Coordinator (Government Operations Consultant III)

Description

Serves as the division’s Strategic Partnerships Coordinator. Responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong partnerships between the division and stakeholders that promote wellness and access to nutritious foods in support of the division’s strategic plan. Serves as the division’s primary point of contact for Living Healthy in Florida, Inc., a direct support organization of the department, and the Food Security Advisory Council. Serves as Contract Manager for the statutorily-created or legislatively funded food and nutrition initiatives.

Cultivates new and enhances existing partnerships with state, corporate, community-based and non-profit organizations by serving as a liaison to meetings and events to advance division engagement initiatives. Recruits and builds partnerships for the promotion and advancement of division programs and of the department’s food access and food insecurity efforts. Follows up on partnership leads and communications. Develops and maintains open lines of communication with food systems stakeholders. Recommends and implements engagement activities, including, but not limited to, planning, coordinating and/or presenting to potential partners at conferences, meetings and workshops. Spearheads special projects designated by division leadership.

Develops and maintains systems and records for all current and prospective partners and supporters of the division’s programs. Communicates regularly with staff across the division to coordinate partnership efforts. Responds to telephone inquiries, written correspondence, and emails regarding engagement activities. Gives informational and promotional presentations to increase public and local decision makers’ understanding of the federal nutrition programs and initiatives administered by the division.

Researches grant and sponsorship opportunities to support the division’s programs and strategic priorities. Maintains database of funding found with specific dates, timelines, and criteria, in addition to the division’s funding needs and interests. Communicates appropriately the grant and sponsorship opportunities found to responsible division staff. Provides high-level assistance to division staff with the development of grant and sponsorship proposals. Identifies appropriate partners for in-kind donations, letters of support, and grant implementation.

Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of key partnerships and engagement initiatives. Utilizes results to determine best practices and best use of resources to share and promote information about programs. Identifies, recommends and incorporates best practices for partnership building based on need and analysis. Creates and implements partner retention strategies appropriate to the division’s mission.

Serves as the division’s primary point of contact for Living Healthy in Florida, Inc., a direct support organization of the department, and the Food Security Advisory Council. Regularly attends meetings of the Board and Council. Facilitates information sharing and supports the activities of the Board and Council. Assists in the identification and attainment of resources to implement and support the strategic goals of each.

Serves as Contract Manager for the statutorily-created and legislatively funded food and nutrition initiatives. Oversees the third-party contract process from solicitation to execution. Monitors the third-party administrator for compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contract terms. Provides guidance and technical assistance to the third-party administrator in the development and application of program guidelines and processes.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, PR/communications or administrative work.

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
Requires possession of a valid Class E driver license.
