Veterans Florida seeks a creative, well-organized, and proactive Social Media and Content Specialist. This role is responsible for designing optimized social media posts as well as content for the web and printed marketing materials.
The Social Media and Content Specialist works closely with the Veterans Florida team to promote services for veterans, transitioning servicemembers, and Florida employers.
This position reports to the Communications and Marketing Director and supports the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. Applicants will be asked to provide a portfolio of professional work.
Manage all social media properties, update regularly with relevant content for target audiences.
Establish baseline metrics and set concrete goals for growth.
Write social media posts, blogs, press releases, and articles for website and print.
Update and monitor website with WordPress.
Shoot and edit video content for website and social media properties.
Monitor multiple social media properties for comments and messages, draft responses.
Analyze data to improve campaign performance.
Maintain news alerts and seek earned-media opportunities.
Design content and appearance of print and electronic materials including magazine.
Collaborate in team effort by accomplishing special projects as needed; and
other duties as assigned.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.
Strong creative, organizational skills.
Demonstrated experience writing press releases, social media posts, and articles for both print and digital mediums.
Experience completing the design and production of print materials and publications.
Commitment to respectfully and professionally working with team and external partners.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
Ability to periodically travel.
Bachelor’s degree: Preferably in marketing, communications, journalism or a similar field.
Experience with cloud-based work-productivity software.
Demonstrated experience shooting and editing both video and still photography.
WordPress experience a plus.
