Job Description:
The Senior Designer (M-F; 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., additional hours as required) develops, stewards, and champions the company brand through inspired creative direction, skilled design execution, unified brand application, and Firm-wide education about the strategic value of design. Sets the visual standards of the Firm, collaborating with Marketing, Graphics, and any external support/vendor teams. Reports to the Senior Manager, Marketing Communications.
Key Roles/Responsibilities:
-Work closely with members of Marketing and Graphics to shape the big idea for the Firm, and ultimately be responsible for direction and design of projects to achieve the vision.
-Advance the integrity and clarity of the Firm’s branding and messaging to ensure consistent and unified visual branding domestically and internationally.
-Lead the design direction and implementation of specific key brand applications and initiatives, including a brand guidelines manual and the systematic application of the brand, including, but not limited to Web and online materials, alerts and newsletters, and a Firm and practice brochure system.
-Work with Business Development, Marketing, and partners to conceive of and execute targeted, audience-specific materials that elevate the positioning of each practice group in a cohesive way that aligns with the overall company brand.
-Execute compelling and engaging design solutions to extend the Firm’s reach and impact across all touch points, including Web, interactive, mobile, social, environmental, and print media.
-Lead visual/creative design of Web-based interfaces and applications in conjunction with Marketing Technology, Technology Services, and external business partners.
-Ensure all print and digital assets are production-ready, perform digital q/a testing and review, and attend print press checks to verify accuracy and quality standards.
-Develop and implement systems and processes to maintain flawless organization and archiving of all digital and print assets and supplies.
-Articulate concepts and rationale for design (informed by experience, research, and best practices) and educate the Firm about design’s strategic potential and advantages for elevating and distinguishing the company’s brand in the marketplace.
-Contribute to the creative resource library and assist in developing best practice procedures in daily operations.

Qualifications

Requirements:
-Real world knowledge of branding, strategy, content, design and technology, and an advanced understanding of all stages and tools of creative development, including design, development, and execution processes for print and web
-Proven track record (6+ years experience) in developing and delivering on business and project goals to deliver polished brand products and materials
-Law firm or professional services work experience a plus
-Outstanding design sensibilities and passion for design and creative problem solving
-Professional and polished demeanor, motivation, decisiveness, organizational skills, efficiency and dedication
-Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Fireworks, Acrobat), MS Office (PowerPoint, Word)
-Bachelors degree in Communication Arts/Design
