We are currently looking for a Senior Account Executive to join our advocacy team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in communications with a heavy emphasis on media/influencer relations, community and grassroots organization relations, advocacy and the legislative process. 5-7+ years experience required; agency experience and media relationships at the statewide level are preferred. What You’ll be Doing:
Developing and managing the day-to-day communications and advocacy needs of local, statewide and national clients with an emphasis on media relations, influencer outreach and special events.

Activities include:
-Setting media and influencer engagement strategy
-Building grassroots/grasstops (influencer) campaign and stakeholders
-Mobilizing grassroots/grasstops (influencer) contacts
-Identifying and developing mutually-beneficial relationships with media targets, bloggers and social media influencers and influential members within the region
-Collaborating with team across multiple offices and clients to develop news-worthy angles and stories
-Tailoring media pitches and creating media tools/assets to help secure media coverage
-Conducting media outreach via phone calls, email communication and social media engagement
-Creating, planning and executing engaging activations and events
-Tracking and reporting media coverage
-Managing project timelines and ensuring deliverables are completed on time
-Providing weekly and monthly reports
-Monitoring trends across markets and client industries
-Traveling throughout Florida representing high-profile clients is needed on occasion

Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree required
-5-7+ years experience
-Experience drafting media tools including media pitches, press releases, media alerts and op-eds (share examples)
-Existing relationships with community groups and organizations that could be leveraged on behalf of client issues
-Creativity and documented experience securing media coverage (give links to coverage, or case studies as examples)
-In-depth knowledge and understanding of media relations strategies and how each tactic can be deployed in different scenarios
-Experience planning and executing special event and/or media events
-Understanding of the legislative process and key players at the state and federal levels
-Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in writing and verbally
-A team player with the confidence to take the lead with client conversations
-Great ability to identify potential negative or crisis situations and apply conflict resolution principles to mitigate issues
