Resource Development Specialist
Description
OBJECTIVE: Coordinate the execution of community fundraising activities, manage special event logistics to increase community awareness and raise charitable contributions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS MAY INCLUDE:
• Plan, coordinate and execute special event activities and logistics and support community fundraising activities in conjunction with volunteers, Philanthropy staff, and Division Management in support of the annual Philanthropy Plan.

• Identify, recruit, manage, orient and support development focused volunteers, committees, auxiliaries and fundraising groups.
• Support Philanthropy Department efforts to cultivate, secure, recognize and steward donors, event participants, sponsors, gift-in-kind donors, community organizations and development focused volunteers.
• Participate in budget development for events and projects as assigned; track expenses and revenue against goals and prepare reports on results; identify trends and make recommendations for the future.
• Execute local marketing activities, awareness campaigns and events.
• Provide information, advice, content and recommendations for promotion and marketing activities to the Communication and Marketing Staff to advance visibility and philanthropy outcomes.
• Develop and cultivate community outreach through presentations for new and existing funding opportunities, when applicable, United Way
• Participate in the execution of grant research and proposal writing process for the designated geographic areas.
• Provide information, advice and recommendations for press release content, feature stories and local media to the Communication and Marketing staff.
• Participate in maintaining an accurate and complete volunteer, donor and constituent database to include individuals, volunteers, corporations, organizations and foundations.
• Build nurturing relationships with Division Management and Philanthropy staff for donor relations efforts.
• Participate in the quality improvement process.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: All degrees must be from an accredited university.
REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Event Planning, Public Relations, Sales, Business or related fields
• Minimum of three years experience in Event Planning or Community Fundraising
• Florida Driver’s License within 30 days from hire
PREFERRED:
• Certification in Development, Business, Event Planning or Fundraising
SKILLS:
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to travel
• Ability to learn computer skills sufficient to perform all essential functions
• Ability to be sensitive to the service populations’ cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
• Commitment to effectively and efficiently providing customer satisfaction with positive service delivery results
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a diverse environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong skills in volunteer management and group leadership

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
NEEDED: driving, sitting, repetitive motions
PREFERRED: bending/stooping, carrying, climbing, kneeling, lifting, pushing/pulling, reaching, standing, walking
