Public Relations Specialist

Description

The Florida State Guard (FSG) is looking for a highly motivated, aspiring communications professional to join the Office of External Affairs. The candidate selected for this position will draft and post FSG social media content, assist in the oversight of recruitment and marketing campaigns, develop and maintain brand management and ensure quality and consistency of external and internal digital design. This role also involves the ability to attend press conferences, training events and FSG activations to capture content and engage with members and stakeholders. Start date is immediate and pay is $25-$27/hour based on experience. This is a contracted position/non-state employee.

Qualifications

• Experience drafting and posting social media on an array of platforms
• Familiarity or experience with social media management programs
• Understanding of social media algorithms and user engagement
• Ability to compile timely and accurate reports to brief leadership on status of social media and/or campaign performance
• Ability to take photographs, conduct interviews and acquire content for social media
• Ability to occasional work outside of traditional office hours as needed
