– Develop outreach materials for the Division, such as disaster preparedness brochures, reports, handouts, etc.
– Create graphics for social media and Division website
– Provide staff support to Emergency Support Function 14 during State Emergency Operations Center activations
– Create print and digital collateral produced on behalf of the Division’s programs and initiatives
– Develop innovative graphics and videos for social media, external partners and county emergency management offices
– Ensure all designs are aligned with brand standards, maintaining visual style guide and an organization-wide commitment to brand consistency
– Assist with development of social media and outreach strategies
– Serve as Division photographer for internal and external events
– Produce informational videos for social media use regarding disaster preparedness and Division initiatives and projects
– Other duties as assigned


– Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Public Relations/Advertising, Journalism, Writing, or related fields
– Two years of related experience, internship experience is applicable

– Knowledge of web design principle and techniques, including ADA accessible web practices
– Use a PC computer and associated graphics software to design, layout, typeset, illustrate and produce a variety of print and digital materials
– Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, etc.
– Understand web versus print design and various file formats
– Videography and photography skills
– Video and photo editing skills
– Social media management and best practices
– Well-organized, able to work with multiple deadlines
