Description

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Division of Food, Nutrition and Wellness coordinates the USDA’s National School Lunch Program for the State of Florida.

This position is responsible for the research, data and content development, and coordination of the production of marketing and outreach materials for the Division of Food, Nutrition and Wellness. Assists in coordinating marketing activities and advertising campaigns to promote the division’s programs. Represents the division at events to promote programs to the public, partner organizations, government and other external entities. Responsible for contributing to the promotion of the division’s programs through traditional outreach methods, new media solutions, public events and outreach activities.

Examines and analyzes program information and data to forecast marketing trends to determine optimal outreach and marketing activities for the division’s programs. Manage outreach projects to ensure timelines and deliverables are met. Reviews, proofs and ensures the quality of work delivered to and from vendors for the development and completion of marketing campaigns and education marketing materials. Ensures consistency of messaging and program information content. Assists with the completion of bids, specifications and purchase requests to contract with vendors. Solves technical and logistical problems as they relate to the creative vision, design work, printing and promotional needs.

Attends conferences and events to provide program results and information to program partners and participants. Assists in the implementation and coordination of special events from concept to final analysis of event effectiveness and impact. Staffs events, as needed, including set up and tear down of the event. Where necessary, assists in the research and identification of sites to exhibit and promote division programs.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in marketing, business, merchandising, economics, agriculture, international affairs, hospitality management, nutrition, leisure services or communications and three (3) years of professional experience or internship in marketing, advertising, public relations, agriculture, international affairs, hospitality management, nutrition, leisure services, business or industry development, the travel industry or in hotel or restaurant management; or

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in business administration and two (2) years of professional experience or internship as described above.

Professional or paraprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Require possession of a valid Driver License.
