Description

Responsibilities
Produce high-quality, professional, engaging communications materials such as news releases, articles, newsletters, brochures, and website and social media content.
Assist in maintaining the College of Nursing’s website and social media on a daily basis.
Handle a variety of public relations projects and activities focused on communications and media relations for various initiatives of the College of Nursing.
Assist with the development and management of strategic internal and external communications and branding efforts for the College of Nursing.
Assist with the marketing and communications activities involving students, alumni, and other partners of the College of Nursing including news releases, social media content, newsletters, speech editing, and other communications and branding activities.
Provide strategic input and assist in the development, monitoring, and implementation of the College of Nursing communications plan.
Assist with the development and design of publications.
Identify stories for web content and newsletters.
Research and provide input on current communications and media trends.
Serve on committees and team projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of related work experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and related work experience equal to six (6) years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Experience performing accurately in a detail-oriented environment.
Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with various writing styles for marketing and communications products.
Experience with digital communications, including social/electronic media, digital ads, e-blasts, and website content.
Experience identifying story ideas for web content and newsletters.
Skilled in preparing clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondences, and other written communications.
Knowledge of current communications and media trends.
