Opening Nights Performing Arts is the professional arts presenter at Florida State University producing performances and educational programs by world-class artists in music, dance, theatre, film, and spoken word.
Responsible for the planning, developing, coordinating, managing, and implementing of the Opening Nights Performing Arts annual and long-term marketing strategies and plan. Develop marketing, advertising, social media, and public relations plans that articulate focused and diverse efforts to exceed earned revenue goals through event ticket sales.
Cultivate new and sustain current audience relationships using print, electronic, and other innovative communication and retention marketing vehicles. Working with University Communications, manage the production of traditional and electronic print collateral to market and advertise the annual performing arts series, oversee the photography and videography of events, and collaborate the production of press releases and media releases. Build and sustain strategic marketing partnerships and collaborations with University colleges and departments and other community organizations.
Responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, and executing Opening Nights Performing Arts’ social, education, entertainment, and fundraising events.
Serves as Opening Nights’ liaison in meetings, press events, and other administrative activities at the University and in the community as assigned. Represent Opening Nights Performing Arts as an advocate and spokesperson at events relevant to the organization’s marketing and audience development efforts.
In cooperation with Opening Nights’ staff, participates in development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, goals and objectives. Handles other duties as assigned. Assists Opening Nights Performing Arts with administrative duties relating to the execution of the series as needed.
A Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a combination of post high education and experience equal to six years.
Experience in strategic and organizational planning and with the development and implementation of effective marketing and public relations programs, activities, and services.
Experience with copywriting and editing of marketing and public relations materials including graphic evaluation skills.
Experience with the development and implementation of social media marketing strategies.
Experience of performing arts/entertainment marketing and market research best practices.
Experience in one-on one and group communication, including contract negotiations.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Windows and/or Apple IOS.
Excellent writing, editing and graphic evaluation skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Extensive experience in event planning and execution.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend hours.
