CSC Leon is seeking a creative and motivated Marketing/Communications Intern to support storytelling and outreach through dynamic visual content. This internship is ideal for students pursuing careers in marketing, communications, or digital media who are excited to sharpen their skills in photography, videography, and short-form content creation. Interns will help bring our programs to life through engaging social media content, event coverage, and promotional materials.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • Capture and edit photos and videos at CSC Leon events and partner locations
  • Create short-form video content for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Assist in maintaining a content calendar and coordinating timely posts
  • Develop branded graphics and marketing materials using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Support promotion of CSC Leon’s podcast series, “Treehouse Talk,” through visual content
  • Collaborate with staff to plan shoots and identify storytelling opportunities
  • Track and analyze content performance and engagement

Position Requirements

  • Internship term: January through May 2026
  • Expected workload: Approximately 10-15 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule with some opportunities for hybrid work
  • Primarily based in-person in Tallahassee, with occasional field work at community events or partner sites
  • Administrative office hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for event coverage
  • Must have reliable transportation for off-site assignments

Position Remuneration

  • Interns will receive a monthly stipend of $199
  • Access to select professional development opportunities, such as networking events and trainings, as available
  • CSC Leon is willing and able to coordinate academic course credit with the student’s academic institution for an experiential learning opportunity

Qualifications

Position Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in a degree program in communications, marketing, digital media, journalism, or related field
  • Experience with photography and videography, including basic editing skills
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and current trends in digital storytelling
  • Proficiency with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Lightroom, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Portfolio or content samples encouraged
