Carma Public Relations and Marketing is a leading full service public relations and marketing firm that works with luxury lifestyle clients in the corporate, consumer, hospitality, entertainment, luxury, nightlife, fashion, beauty, publishing, celebrity, non-profit and real estate arenas. Carma PR is looking for motivated, professional and responsible interns to become part of our team. We are currently looking for interns for our Summer 2016 program.

Responsibilities include:

• Clipping and scanning press placements
• Keeping abreast with daily news (local and national)
• Researching new publications and pitch opportunities
• Compiling publicity reports and event recaps
• Out of office errands that may include deliveries to publications, purchasing publications for press reports, picking up supplies needed for meetings, etc.
• Assisting with events (cocktail parties, opening events, etc.)
• Database maintenance
• Managing and tracking product samples
• Office organization (filing recent publications, etc.)

Goals of Internship:
Apply current knowledge, skills and studies to a work environment – All interns will be given tasks that will require use of current skills and learnings
Increase understanding of public relations field – Interns will be submersed into the industry and learn the day-to-day work of a professional publicist
Gain relevant experience – Our internship program is meant to provide students and recent graduates with the experience they need to be strong candidates for entry-level positions

Qualifications

Internship candidates must possess the following:

• Major in Public Relations, Communications or related field of study
• Interested in all aspects of the public relations field
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe and Gmail
• Must multi-task effectively
• Impeccable attention to detail
• Extremely organized
• High energy
• Self-starter who is able to work independently
• Eager to learn and grow

Candidate Requirements:

• Current student OR Graduated semester previous to internship
• If the candidate is a current student, must be receiving class credit for the internship
• 3.5 GPA or above
• Reliable transportation and able to assist with events
• Reside in Miami or surrounding areas
