This is a professional position that reports directly to the Communications and Outreach Manager. This position is responsible for assisting in the development, management and administration of the Division’s financial and insurance education and marketing programs primarily through video creation in conjunction with the Department’s Communication Office.

*Assists in the development, management and administration of comprehensive financial literacy campaigns to educate consumers about insurance and financial-related matters, including developing educational videos, tip sheets, content for online and print publications, etc., and tracks campaigns’ effectiveness. Assists in the development, management and administration of comprehensive marketing plans and campaigns to promote the Department, the Division and the services that are available to consumers, including developing content, videos, for the Department’s and Division’s website, social media accounts, outreach materials, etc.

*Develops and cultivates community and business partnerships with organizations, associations and other entities that will assist the Division in promoting its initiatives and marketing its services. Prepares written, graphical, video content at the request of the CFO and Communications Office. Assists in identifying and developing consumer protection and awareness initiatives. Evaluates effectiveness of education and outreach programs using data from consumer satisfaction surveys and audience feedback, and provides suggestions to increase effectiveness.

*Assists the Communications Manager with drafting responses, and researching and gathering data/information in response to public and media inquiries. Develops, coordinates and attends public events and forums, as requested. Represents the Department and Division at outreach and media events, as requested, which may require travel. Distributes information on consumer awareness and protection activities to appropriate sources.

*Serves as liaison with other DFS Divisions regarding public education requests and media activities.

*Serves as a member of the DFS disaster response team and in that capacity may be required, on short notice, to perform duties in support of disaster relief efforts. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as directed.


• Must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in fine/visual/digital art, graphic design/art, computer animation, visual effects or a related field.
• Must have at least 3 years of 2D animation, illustration, video development and creation professional work experience.
• Must have at least 3 years of professional experience with Adobe Creative Cloud graphic design or animation programs, including Animate, After Effects, Premiere Pro, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop; Flash; or related video creation programs.
• Must have at least 3 years of experience developing professional videos intended for public awareness or informational purposes.
