FINANCIAL EDUCATION COORDINATOR

The primary purpose of this position is to assist First Commerce in fulfilling our Vision of Empowering Generations and Transforming Communities. This is achieved through delivering Remarkable Member Service as defined by our Service Standards as well as building and maintaining strong member relationships through identification of member’s financial needs and effectively recommending appropriate products and services to meet those needs.

The FCCU Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to financial literacy and affiliated with First Commerce Credit Union. As a dual employment role (employed by FCCU and the FCCU Foundation), the full-time Financial Education Coordinator is ideal for a proactive individual who can create and administer engaging financial education programs to various target audiences in accordance with our strategic plan.

The Financial Education Coordinator will join a dynamic team committed to helping individuals achieve their financial goals and creating stronger communities. The coordinator will develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs aimed at enhancing financial literacy for varied groups, including youth, adults, seniors, newcomers, and those with limited income. The ideal candidate is passionate about community outreach and capable of creating engaging financial education materials. Skills in delivering educational content and building partnerships to expand the FCCU Foundation’s reach are essential. Experience in grant writing, reporting, and fundraising is advantageous. The role requires regular travel within the North Florida/South Georgia region to conduct workshops and meet with community partners. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, goal orientation, and excellent relationship-building and communication abilities are critical.

Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilizes financial education platform and other resources, and collaborates with experts to shape, formulate, and author educational content as needed; defines instructional objectives and methodologies aligned with program ambitions; and creates financial educational resources that are compelling and pertinent.
    Coordinates and implements compelling and unique interactive programs and initiatives, such as courses, training sessions, conferences, workshops, financial fitness fairs and other special ventures.
  • Creates, measures, and reports on effectiveness of the suite of educational and enrichment programs.
  • Executes pre- and post-learning evaluations to gauge the effectiveness and results of the financial instruction provided.
  • Coordinates and hosts financial education workshops, presentations, and training for various groups, face-to-face and virtually/digitally.
  • Establishes program formats and methods to meet both fiscal and learning strategic objectives; identifies target audience opportunities and requirements; investigates national and statewide trends and identifies gaps and opportunities to make recommendations for programs and initiatives where relevant.
  • Seeks new avenues for growth, funding, and partnership with external entities.
  • Represents the FCCU Foundation at community events, team member events, internal or external networking functions, and media engagements.
  • Embodies the FCCU Foundation publicly, delivering service that aligns with the credit union’s Service Values.
  • Delivers timely and accurate documentation, analysis and statistics regarding financial education endeavors and participants reached, including grant reporting as needed.
  • Helps identify and pursue opportunities to fundraise including acquiring grant funding that supports FCCU Foundation growth and learning objectives.
  • Manages the FCCU Foundation web site and online financial education platform and vendor, including promotion of resources to create engagement, content updates, and online training tools.
  • Identifies opportunities for awareness and recognition of FCCU Foundation efforts through public relations and awards programs across all markets.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Performs job duties in accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors under the rules and regulations set by the National Credit Union Administration, the State of Florida, and any applicable State laws for financial centers located in other States.
  • Complies with Reg E, BSA, OFAC, and CIP requirements such as reporting suspicious or unusual activity to manager.
  • Fully supports in actions and words First Commerce’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Service Standards.
  • Attends meetings timely and as required; reports to work as scheduled and adheres to First Commerce’s dress code.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong understanding of technology and web-based services as a strategic communication tool; familiarity with various social media platforms and how to use them.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation aptitudes.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and assess impactful training modules and compelling content.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel to various locations across credit union service markets in North Florida and South Georgia.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Education, Finance, Business or related field
  • Fluent in English, Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in high school, college or adult education, or related instructional fields preferred; familiarity with financial literacy resources and tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and related requirements a plus.
