The American Lung Association of the Southeast, Inc. (serving Florida, Georgia and South Carolina) is seeking an experienced professional to serve as the Director of Communications. The ideal candidate would possess a four year degree, five years of experience in public relations, communications or marketing (agency a plus), be able to multi-task and adhere to deadlines and ensure maximum results with allotted resources.
The Director of Communications provides strategic communications counsel and manages all communications-related issues for this nationally-recognized 501c3 organization. The position works directly with the Senior Management Team to oversee all marketing and communications efforts and ensures the association’s communication are targeted and strategic, as well as in keeping with best practices and industry standards.
Communication activities include: marketing/branding, media relations, social media, online communications, strategic planning, public affairs, grassroots advocacy, and internal communications. Candidate must possess the ability to handle stressful situations including achieving goals set by the association, unplanned calls for action, and other situations requiring a quick solution. Must not use tobacco products.
