Drive Electric Florida is seeking a digital communications and research intern to manage its social media accounts across multiple platforms, create content for its blog, and conduct research to facilitate engagement with emerging transportation and energy technologies that will remake and reimagine our daily lives. The position will entail flexible work hours, a competitive monthly, (college credit, if applicable), and the opportunity to work with the diverse stakeholders who comprise our membership. An ideal candidate will have:
• Experience planning and executing social media campaigns;
• An interest in energy, transportation, and technology;
• Strong written communications skills;
• Experience with digital design and web content creation;
• Ability to conduct basic research.

The expertise of our applicants will ultimately determine the contours of the internship, as we would like the folks we bring on board to get the most out of this experience.

Position Responsibilities:
The primary duties of the job will be curating and creating content for Drive Electric Florida’s social media accounts and website, and researching relevant articles, posts and trends in the industry, and working with our members on amplifying their own message.
• Communicate about initiatives Drive Electric Florida and its members are involved in;
• Drive engagement with our organization;
• Identify relevant articles and information to share on social media and write blog posts;
• Help organizing webinars and digital events.

Drive Electric Florida is a nonprofit composed of a diverse set of stakeholders whose mission is to advance the energy, economic, and environmental security of the state of Florida by promoting the growth of electric vehicle ownership and its accompanying infrastructure. We are working to accelerate the transition to an electric transportation sector by engaging and educating the public, businesses, and policymakers. Facilitating collaborative policy and regulatory development, and supporting EV-friendly policy and programs.

There are very few organizations in the state of Florida that include both the Sierra Club and Duke Energy on its Board of Directors: Drive Electric Florida is one. Our members also include the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, Florida Power and Light, TECO, grassroots advocacy groups, as well as small businesses, innovative startups, and infrastructure companies.
