Development Director

Description

Directs agency fund raising, fund development, messaging and assists with management functions. Agency Fund Development Program Goals:

• Increase revenue from special events, donations and sponsorships
• Enhance direct mail program
• Develop major gifts program
• Provide stewardship of agency fundraising program and build individual and community relationships
• Continue to build brand awareness through marketing, social media and public speaking

Qualifications

• Minimum BA or BS in related field preferred; professional experience may substitute for one year
• 3 or more years of experience in related field with proven track record of success
• Effective time management and organization skills
• Ability to work independently, initiate and complete projects on time
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
• Ability to build strong relationships
• Ability to give attention to detail, review and proof written work products to ensure accuracy
• Positive attitude, flexibility and ability to problem solve
• Creativity and willingness to try innovative and new approaches
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and related software
• Social media, electronic newsletter and Internet technology skills
