The Florida Hospital Association is looking for a Deputy Communications Director to work with the Communications Director and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Duties include written and graphic content development, website and social media management, assist the Communications Director with media relations, and internal and external communications.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Write, edit, and distribute media advisories, news releases, policy material, internal and external communications.

Design, develop and publish content on social media and FHA website.
Assist Communications Director with media relations and e-mail distribution using communications and marketing platforms.

Work with other FHA departments on communications planning and content editing.

Plan, organize and implement media and member events.

Qualifications

Skills:

Knowledge of marketing and communications principles and techniques.

Knowledge of social media, including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Experience working with personal computers and related software (Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).

Experience working with Adobe: Photoshop and InDesign is a plus.

Effective communication skills (public speaking, writing and personal interaction).

Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and complete work assignments.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in journalism, English, communications, or a related field.

Three years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations; health care knowledge is a plus.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications.
Creative design experience is plus.

Ability to multitask.

Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines is essential.
