Description
This position will assist with all University social media networks, editing, writing press releases, magazine articles, reports, and other written materials as assigned; Manage Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter and other social media accounts content and interact with consumers online; (Error free postings) creates and optimizes social media campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and other social media platforms in conjunction with internal PR and the University departments, colleges and schools. Manages hash tags and promotional/awareness campaigns specifically related to recruitment; Researches materials, conducts interviews, and write and edit articles for publication or dissemination; Manages content and assists in the implementation and maintenance of social events, message development, and community engagement on behalf of the University brand. Creates, edits, and produces high-quality written, video, and photo content; Monitors and tracks all customer feedback in digital environments and support internal and external teams; Assists with developing content for websites, and other online sources as directed. Implements and enforces social media and communications policies; Conducts research and maintains database information related to contacts or resources;
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public relations, Journalism or a related discipline and two – five years progressive experience in the field of media/public relations or strategic communications in a higher education or corporate communication setting.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following:
Knowledge of current social media trends, topics, and best practices;
Ability to identify and engage key social media influencers relevant to the band;
Understands how to develop and drive shareable content (video, images, graphics), views on social media accounts;
Must have intimate knowledge and agility in social media apps, video editing software and knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is a plus;
Excellent written and oral presentation skills, as well as adhere to AP Style, Chicago Manual Style, and the University’s Style Guide;
Sound judgement, political sensitivity, strong collaborative instincts, and organizational skills;
Must be able to meet tight deadlines and work with small groups;
Collaborates with internal teams to develop new digital content, including email campaigns; and
Ability to manage successful recruitment campaigns.
