Coordinator, Computer Applications (Working Title: Web Designer/Graphic Artist)
Description
Florida A&M University is seeking an experienced Website Designer/Graphic Artist to create the look, layouts and features of the university’s various websites. The individual must have the knowledge and understanding of both graphic design, website building and maintenance; with the ability to interpret our internal clients’ needs and to design solutions with high visual impact. The position will be responsible for creation of “original” designs and essential artwork, including microsites, brochures, exhibitions, corporate identity etc. and will collaborate with our marketing, social media and media relations teams.
This role works closely with the entire staff in the Office of Communications to accomplish projects from goal clarification, initial content/categorization, design (of icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc.), page layouts, copy, site navigation, and their functionality. This also includes all collateral material associated with Print, TV, Online and training materials, which can cross multiple platforms.
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in design, graphic design, new media or a related field.
Prefers minimum of five years of creative development experience in higher education, corporate, or agency experience
PRFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Adobe Creative Suite expertise required
3 years of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and PowerPoint experience with strong InDesign experience.
2 years of Illustrator and Photoshop experience
2 years of experience creating logos, flyers, web banners, brochures and posters.
1 year of experience in web and multimedia; animation; illustration and infographics
Knowledge of CSS3
Prior experience creating infographics
