SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees and manages Department social media, working collaboratively with program areas, districts, and offices.
Compiles, reviews, and maintains content across most statewide Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) social media platforms and channels.
Coordinates and facilitates reviewing and approving social media content for program areas to ensure consistent department branding and messaging.
Acts as the Marketing representative and consultant for the Department’s statewide marketing contract.
Enhancing the Department’s digital presence through development of social media and website content.
Tracks key social media metrics such as audience engagement, impressions, reach, referrals, and conversions.
Schedules social media posts and monitors relevant news and content.
Writes and reviews press releases, newsletters, blogs, and other content.
Maintains awareness with the latest social media platform developments.
Secures social media passwords.
Creates and manages lead generation ads across different platforms.
Design and implement successful social media campaigns.
Set up tracking systems for content creation.
Track progress with Strategic Communications Manager.
Collaborate with the creative teams to produce promotional materials.
Craft clear product marketing copy for statewide marketing campaigns.
Prepare (monthly, quarterly, and annual) forecasts for the Department’s director and perform other responsibilities as deemed appropriate.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of professional experience in news reporting, editing, public relations, public information, advertising, marketing, mass communications or journalism.
A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in communications or English can substitute for the required college experience.
Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year- for -year basis for the required college education.
