Description
The Florida Department of Health is seeking a community involvement coordinator to join its interdisciplinary hazardous waste site, public health assessment program. As part of one of the premier programs in the country, you will write and distribute community update newsletters and press releases to inform people living near hazardous waste sites. You will also communicate with community members over the phone, in person, and via social media.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing plus at least two years of experience. Candidates should have excellent writing and verbal communication skills, be able to work well with others, and make effective presentations. Out-of-town travel averages about one night a month. In an emergency, the Department may require work before, during, and/or beyond normal hours or days.
