Communications and Public Relations Manager

Description

Professional association seeks energetic communications and public relations expert to oversee all aspects of communications and public relations plan including email newsletters, quarterly magazine and executing a social media strategy. This position will be responsible for writing, compiling and distributing newsletters and other communications including legislative issue briefs, calls to action and updates. Successful applicant will work with an editorial committee and publisher to produce a quarterly magazine with a circulation of about 4,000. A background in journalism is a plus. Incumbent will be responsible for managing and executing annual awards program. Will work with contracted video production agency to schedule and produce legislative and promotional videos as needed. Excellent writing skills a must. Graphic design skills and knowledge of InDesign required. Background in association management, public relations and basic understanding of the legislative process preferred. Must be detail-oriented, work efficiently with deadlines. Must be able to work independently using critical thinking skills and exhibiting sound judgment. This position is responsible for all written and print communication for a statewide association of about 3,500 members. Position requires travel. Competitive salary and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

Four-year degree preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and InDesign.
