Anticipated vacancy for a full-time, entry-level position within the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s Office of Communications

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the media relations team with daily and weekly tasks including: answering media calls and gathering information, searching for and disseminating media clips, managing reporter contact information and databases, coordinating public records requests and updating the department’s internal and external websites
  • Develops initial drafts of media releases and announcements; Drafts written content for social media, newsletters, articles and related items
  • Assists in the coordination and execution of outreach events and special projects
  • Serves as liaison to the Executive Office of the Governor
  • Performs other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or a related field

Strong writing skills

Excellent verbal communication skills

Preference will be given to applicants with working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products
