Description

This role serves as a member of the College of Law’s Communications Office, supporting with all aspects of law school communications. Assists with drafting and posting social media content, editing and writing. Serves as the primary internal photographer for the College of Law. Also works with small graphic design and video projects, primarily for social media.

Social Media
Responsible for drafting social media posts and taking photos for social media. Assists with posts on the College of Law’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and other social media platforms. Assists with the law school’s Instagram stories and video-based social media content creation. Researches social media trends, especially in the areas of higher education and Reels/Tik-Tok-style videos, and works with team members to incorporate trends into the law school’s social media strategy. Ensures that social media posts are consistent with College of Law branding and goals. Stays abreast of new social media trends, recommending and implementing new social media initiatives in response to market developments.

Photography
Serves as the College of Law’s primary internal photographer. Responsible for taking high-quality photos of law school events and constituents as needed. Responsible for utilizing Adobe Creative Suite programs to manipulate photos for use on the website, on social media platforms, and in publications. Required to work minimal weekend and evening hours to cover some events.

Other Communications Activities
Provides support for other projects as needed. Other responsibilities include editing and drafting a variety of communications materials, and utilizing Adobe Creative Suite programs and Canva for small social media graphic design projects.

Anticipated Salary Range
Anticipated salary range is $14 – $16 per hour, depending upon experience.

Pay Plan
This is an OPS/temporary Job.

Schedule
Position is full-time, M-F, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

This position requires a High School Diploma and 1 year of experience in a customer service or office setting. Applicants must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent software, and Adobe Acrobat or similar software.  Knowledge of standard office procedures, equipment and etiquette is essential.
