The Florida Virtual Campus and the Complete Florida program are looking for a full-time Assistant Director of Public Relations / Communications in the Tallahassee area. These two state-wide programs are focus on creating and implementing innovative tools, programs and resources to help advance education and learning throughout the state of Florida.
This position is responsible for managing the organization’s media relations, social media, internal and external communications. Candidates should have excellent copywriting skills and pro-actively build relationships with media representatives and news outlets to create positive press opportunities through credible sources, like trusted news outlets. The assistant director will also work closely with the Marketing/Communications team to prepare, edit and implement the distribution of organizational publications, press releases, blogs and newsletters for internal and external audiences.
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications or related field. Minimum 6 years’ experience managing internal/external public relations and communications campaigns.
