Holiday Social Recap

On Thursday, December 5, Tallahassee’s PR pros were out in force at the FPRA DEEPember Social at DEEP Brewing Company. New and senior members gathered to chat over drinks. Members of the board brought snacks and homemade cookies, while DEEP provided the hops for the “hoppy holiday” spirit.

The ugly sweater contest was a showdown, with the winner sporting a cat-themed number and taking home a goodie bag. The prize included a glass from DEEP, a holiday-themed travel mug, Santa hat and a $20 gift card to Argonaut Coffee, Tallahassee’s newest coffee shop, located in the Tallahassee Orthopedic Center.

The crowd also tapped into the generosity of the season, donating 32 children’s books for the Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend. Among the books collected were some childhood favorites like Goodnight, Moon and educational titles like Max Has a Fish. Director of Programs Zoe Linafelt delivered the books the following day, and the books were added to the ELC’s shelves, from which children can select books to start their own library at home.

All in all, it was a successful end-of-year event; the FPRA Capital Chapter is relaxed and ready to welcome the opportunities and challenges of the new year!
