Congratulations! We have 3 new APRs this year!

Three FPRA Capital Chapter members received their APR: Accredited in Public Relations and we couldn’t be happier for them!

Congratulation Amanda Handley, APR, with Bowstern Marketing Communications, Drew Piers, APR, with Sachs Media Group, and Stefanie Strickland, APR, with Salter>Mitchell.

Amanda Handley, APR, is the Public Relations Director at BowStern Marketing Communications, an integrated firm headquartered in Tallahassee, Florida. Her background in writing and strategic communications lends itself to effective messaging for clients of all kinds. She has managed the PR efforts for a variety of clients ranging from local transit systems to national associations and international fitness centers. From building excitement via social media conversation to scoring media coverage in markets across the U.S., Amanda is experienced in developing engaging messaging across all digital and traditional public relations platforms.

She is a graduate of The Florida State University and passionate about college football, good grammar and Duke’s mayonnaise. As the wife of a soldier and the mother of two strong-willed girls, she believes the most valuable assets you can have are education and work ethic.

Drew Piers, APR, is the Deputy Director of Public Affairs at Sachs Media Group. He focuses on guiding the firm’s political, public affairs, and crisis clients through communications and issue challenges. Prior to earning his APR, he was among one of the first groups of students to receive his Certificate in Principles of Public Relations. He is a graduate of Florida State University and lives in Tallahassee with his wife Rebecca.

Getting your APR shows your commitment to the PR profession, designates you as a competent PR leader, gives you an opportunity to challenge yourself and provides you with a professional designation that can be meaningful to both current and future employers.
