Dress for Success Tallahassee would like to officially thank the FPRA capital chapter and each individual that contributed to the 9-5 Suit Clothing Drive this summer. Your donations will aid in transitioning women in the community towards self sufficiency as a result of your generosity.
The mission of Dress for Success Tallahassee is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. With current unemployment rates higher than ever, Dress for Success is much needed in our community. Women come to Dress for Success Tallahassee by referral from local social service agencies and non-profit organizations. Each client receives one interview suit in her first visit and, once she finds work, receives additional attire, either separates or a second suit, along with an invitation to join the Professional Women’s Group (PWG). The PWG program, along with Career Center and mentoring services, provides ongoing support to clients as they grow professionally, strive to turn their jobs into successful careers and journey towards economic independence.
Through our partnership with WorkForce Plus, we are working to ensure that each woman in our program is prepared for upcoming job interviews and has the resources to make a lasting first impression. To date, we have suited 22 women, and helped them prepare for their upcoming job interviews. Thanks to the community support and contributions we have been able to provide each woman in our program with business attire for her interview.
