FPRA provides a variety of services, benefits and opportunities to its members.

The association functions on two levels – services and programs dedicated toward improving the professional competence of the individual public relations person and programs which benefit the entire profession.

When you become a member of FPRA, you are a member of both the state and local chapter and receive many benefits as a result of these networks. Membership in FPRA is a sound professional investment. The association offers many programs and services including:

Continuing Education

FPRA sponsors continuing education programs affording members the opportunity to develop their professionalism to the highest degree. With ever-changing technology and new ways to connect emerging all the time, it can be hard to keep up. FPRA hosts regular workshops and presentations to help you stay on top of these new trends.

Professional Accreditation and Certification

These programs are designed to offer FPRA members the opportunity to achieve the internationally recognized ranks of Accredited in Public Relations (APR) and Certified Public Relations Counselor (CPRC).

Monthly Meetings

Local chapters meet monthly to hear timely speakers, exchange career experiences and conduct general business.

Exclusive Professional Development Opportunities

The Capital Chapter recently launched its newest member benefit series, Pro-X Events. These events will feature extra professional development opportunities exclusively for members and their guests and will be at little or no cost for members.

Networking

In addition to professional development, FPRA offers its members many networking opportunities throughout the year. Meet new people and strengthen relationships with your colleagues outside the office. Expand your personal network and get to know local leaders in our industry.

Annual Conference

The conference offers members the opportunity to stay in touch with professionals from throughout the nation, stay current on activities and events that have an effect on the profession and to enjoy the fellowship of other professionals.

Awards Programs

FPRA’s Local and Golden Image Awards programs are conducted annually and recognizes outstanding public relations activities in the Big Bend area and statewide. The Chapter also recognizes excellence in service to the industry and the community through the Stan Tait Award for Professional Service and the Communicator of the Year Award.
