Florida Public Relations Association’s Capital Chapter Recognizes 2014 Local Image Awards Winners

~ Image Awards Honor Outstanding Public Relations Efforts ~

Tallahassee, Fla. (April 17, 2014) – The Capital Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) today presented 35 awards honoring local public relations practitioners at its annual Image Awards ceremony.  The Image Awards competition is conducted annually by FPRA to recognize outstanding public relations programs in the Capital City region and to encourage and promote the development of public relations professionalism in the Big Bend region.

“The Image Awards have become a standard of public relations excellence not only in Tallahassee, but throughout Florida,” said Sandi Poreda, president, FPRA Capital Chapter.  “The Tallahassee area is full of public relations talent, and the number of Image Awards presented locally represents the scope of that talent.”

The Image Awards competition includes four divisions of categories: Public Relations Programs, Printed Tools of Public Relations, Audio/Visual Tools of Public Relations and Student Projects in Public Relations.  To qualify for judging, an entry must incorporate sound public relations research and planning and must meet the highest standard of execution, evaluation of results and budget.

The Capital Chapter also awarded the Stanley Tait Professional Award for Service to Nanette Schimpf, APR, CPRC, Vice President of Moore Communications Group.  The award is recognized as the highest, most prestigious award of the Chapter. It honors the spirit, professionalism, and leadership of Stanley Tait, award-winning counselor and mentor to many within the Chapter.

“Nanette has a passion for excellence and commitment to service that has long been the hallmark of Moore Communication’s Group’s success,” says Moore Communications Group Founder and CEO Karen Moore, APR, CPRC. “She is a connector and excels as a mentor to those around her.”

Schimpf has been a professional member of the FPRA Capital Chapter for 10 years, serving as a dedicated champion for the organization. She leads by example, volunteering her time for the organization as the current Image Award chair. For more than a decade at Moore Communications Group, Schimpf has leveraged her expertise in grassroots advocacy, public affairs and media relations on behalf of clients such as PhRMA, the Florida Sheriffs Association and Florida Sterling Council.
